Valerie Chrusciel is the Chief Operating Officer for Overlake Medical Clinics, LLC., where she oversees the operations and strategy of a 150 provider multispecialty practice associated with Overlake Medical Center. Val joined Overlake Hospital Medical Center in 2007 as Director of Operations for Overlake Medical Clinics and lead the growth and development of Overlake’s Primary Care and Urgent Care network on the Eastside. Prior to this she held management roles in the Internal Medicine Department of The Emory Clinic in Atlanta, GA.
Val has more than 25 years of healthcare experience in a variety of roles in Academic Medical Centers as well as the Pharmaceutical Industry including direct patient care, sales, marketing and operations management. Val has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Pharmacy from the University of Alberta, a Residency in Hospital Pharmacy from the University of British Columbia and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Richmond. Val is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Val also currently serves on the board of LifeWire.
Parke Corbin is the Assistant Director of Clinical Department Funding at UW Medicine since October 2017, which entails being the primary liaison between the UW School of Medicine department leaders and hospital executives regarding financial support for clinical operations. Prior to this role, Parke spent seven years managing Hospitalist practices for CHI Franciscan Health in Tacoma, and IU Health in Indianapolis. During his ten years at IU Health, Parke also spent six years in Finance working with nursing unit leaders to senior executives on anything related to financial operations, including budgets, financial reporting, etc.
Parke received his Accounting degree from Indiana University, and MHA from the IU School of Medicine. After living in Indiana his entire life, he and his wife decided to make a change and leave the flat land of the Midwest for the Pacific Northwest. They have been here for a few years, and are continuing to enjoy and explore the many different things to do in Seattle and surrounding area!
John Joyce, FACHE is the MultiCare Health System Vice President for Ancillary Services with responsibility for Imaging, Laboratory, Pathology and Respiratory Therapy services. Prior to MHS John held a hospital services national business development position at Quest Diagnostics and senior management positions at Alfigen, The Genetics Institute, Perinatal Practice Management and was responsible for new esoteric testing commercialization at Specialty Laboratories. John has also held clinical and management positions at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City and City of Hope National Medical Center in Los Angeles.
In 2003 John was president of the Southern California chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives and served on the board of directors of the Hospital Association of Southern California. John holds an MBA from the Peter Drucker School at the Claremont Graduate University and a BA in Biology from Brooklyn College.
Karin Larson-Pollock, MD, MBA, FACHE is Chief Quality & Analytics Officer at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, a 530-bed tertiary medical center in Washington state and member of Providence St. Joseph Health. In her role, Karin leads value-driven change strategy and architecture – including care process transformation, reporting and benchmarking analytics, quality systems and structures, operational excellence (Lean/Six Sigma), utilization and care management and a Clinical Transformation innovation fund.
Dr. Larson-Pollock graduated magna cum laude from The University of Montana with a degree in Business Administration/Marketing and a minor in German. After graduation, she served for two years as a Small Business Advisor with the United States Peace Corps in Kenya, and returned to the U. S. to further her studies, receiving a Doctor of Medicine degree from Northwestern University Medical School and a Masters in Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. After completing a Preliminary Year in Internal Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, she joined The Methodist Hospital System in Houston, Texas. In her seven years with Methodist, Karin served in many roles, including Preceptor of the Administrative Fellows Program, Executive Director of Strategic Planning and Women’s Services, and Vice President of Operations, before deciding to return home with her family to the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
She is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, and is currently serving as a board member of the Washington State Healthcare Executives Forum, ACHE’s Washington State Chapter, where she served as President from 2015-2016.
Nick is a Product Development Strategist for PacificSource Health Plans. Prior, he worked as a Benefits Consultant for Virginia Mason Memorial, where he integrated health system initiatives with the employee health plan. He received his Masters in Heath Policy and Administration from Washington State University, and his Bachelors in Business Administration – Human Resources & Management from Pacific Lutheran University. Nick grew up in Bellevue and enjoys all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. He likes to travel and is excited to explore his new home in Southwest Washington.
Emily Yu is the Director of Operations for Express Care at Providence St. Joseph in Renton, WA since 2018.
Having graduated with a biology degree from the University of California, San Diego, Emily ultimately decided that health administration was the path she wanted to follow. Following a year volunteering in Americorps working with Solid Ground to minimize food insecurity of seniors in public housing, she received her Masters in Health Administration from the University of Washington. After graduation, Emily completed an Administrative Fellowship at MultiCare Health System and went on to serve in several roles including Director of Retail Clinics & Virtual Health for MultiCare Health System, where she launched the system’s telemedicine initiative and managed the joint venture relationship with RediClinic, and coordinator for the Administrative Internship and Fellowship program.
Emily lives on Mercer Island, WA and enjoys all active, outdoors hobbies available in the Pacific Northwest.
